Harper’s Pit

At Harper’s Pit, the pond links to an ancient drain and also sits alongside an ancient hedgerow. There are some lovely oaks, holly and thorn around the pit that were left. Prior to the restoration the pond was 50-75% shaded and held only an inch of water. Around the edge of the basin there is some fantastic habitat for pollinators. The NPP contractors and Lizzie worked hard on behalf of the Upper Wensum Farm Cluster Group on the 24th September 2019.

The pond was so dry that there was little water in it post restoration. We look forward to seeing how it turns out!
