Tud Tarn

This is a pond creation in a very wet field near the River Tud, once part of the formally huge Badley Moor; a common of which only a small part remains. We found field drains of varying ages, probably never very successful attempts to “improve” the land but because of the high water table it is an ideal spot for ponds! The land was recently purchased by a family who will manage it with conservation in mind so along with its twin “Badley Broad”.

The area was noted as less than 25% shaded prior to creation. The creation took place on the 24th January 2020 as part of the Norfolk District Level Licensing scheme.
