Chippie’s pond is situated in North Norfolk and was surveyed for its suitability for restoration in Spring 2019. At the start of spring (see picture below), you can already see the willlow scrub encroaching the pond starting to sprout new leaves and flowers which early insects feed from.

Two huge poplar trees had fallen into this Norfolk pit in high winter winds almost filling it with the trees. The pond contains the rare crucian carp so it was very important that the trees were removed. Due to trees blowing over shading prior to restoration was only 25-50%.
The pond was restored by Digger Driver Dom. Following the restoration a number of crucian carp we’re seen at the pond surface (one even allegedly gave a thank you wink!).
